In this lesson series we will be taking an in-depth look at all of Slash’s guitar parts to the ripping “Anastasia” off of his Apocalyptic Love album.
“Anastasia” is an absolute tour-d-force of killer guitar riffs and licks. In this Anastasia guitar lesson, I will cover all of them note-for-note. 
It is gonna take a few video lessons to do this song justice so I hope you will stay in there for the long haul and make it through all of them. It will be well worth the effort I assure you.
“Anastasia” contains everything from a classical guitar influenced finger-picked acoustic section, an Yngwie Malmsteen inspired sequence that is kind of uncharacteristic of Slash’s style, and then of course there will be tons of Slash’s trademarked riffs and scorching bluesy influenced solos. We have a lot to cover so let’s get to it.
Make sure you tune your guitar down one half step to Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb in order to follow along with this lesson and the original recording.
In the first video lesson I will cover the finger-picked acoustic intro. This part of the song might be a pretty big challenge for those players without a lot of finger-picking experience. I use a nylon string acoustic in the lesson video since that is what is used on the recording, but you can just as well use an electric guitar with a clean setting like Slash does live.
The chords in this acoustic intro also move around pretty quickly which will increase the difficulty level substantially.
In the second video lesson we finally make it to the full band section with Slash playing a fast pedal point sequence that sounds like it could be on an Yngwie Malmsteen album. This kind of lick requires a lot of coordination between the picking and fret hand so make sure you take your time and get it right before trying to take it to warp speed.
After that section we will also be covering the main riff, chorus, bridge and all the fills played up until Slash’s first solo in the second video lesson.
For the remainder of the lessons we will be covering Slash’s solos note-for-note. Slash really pulls out all the stops for these solos and they are full of his blistering trademark licks and musical phrases.
We will also touch on the chorus that happens later after the solo since Slash starts to throw a lot of stuff in there to keep it interesting.

Espero que les guste =D Ya que me la tuve que aprender en una semana tocando 8 horas al día, y compré la cámara el 19 de marzo y lo tuve que grabar a eso de las 02:00 am. Y el 20 de marzo después de 6 horas de estar editando y subiendo el video, faltando un 5% se va la luz en la colonia y tuve que intentarlo de nuevo, pero valió la pena.

Saul Hudson, también conocido como Slash, es un guitarrista de hard rock nacido el 23 de julio de 1965 en Inglaterra. Fue el guitarrista solista del grupo de hard rock estadounidense Guns N’ Roses.
Actualmente milita en la banda de hard rock Velvet Revolver junto con sus compañeros Duff McKagan y Matt Sorum de Guns N’ Roses y el guitarrista Dave Kushner (ex miembro de Suicidal Tendencies e Infectious Grooves). Guns N’ Roses la banda estadounidense de HARD ROCK oriunda de Los Ángeles, California creada en 1985. Liderado por el inigualable Axl Rose ha pasado por varios cambios y controversias desde su creación. La formación actual cuenta con el vocalista Axl Rose, como único miembro original del grupo, acompañado por los guitarristas Ron Bumblefoot Thal, DJ Ashba y Richard Fortus, el bajista Tommy Stinson, el baterísta Frank Ferrer y los teclistas Dizzy Reed y Chris Pitman.
Guns N’ Roses tiene en su haber seis álbumes de estudio, tres EP, un álbum en directo y un recopilatorio, ha vendido más de 150 millones de álbumes en todo el mundo, incluyendo más de 68 millones de álbumes en los Estados Unidos. Second show in Stockholm. During their stay in Sweden, when Guns were at the club Daily News, a photographer from Expressen (Sweden’s) at that time biggest newspaper (referred by Axl as “your version of the Enquirer”) takes pictures of them without permission. Guns bodyguards tried to stop him but they failed and the picture came on Expressen?s first page the next day.
At around nine o’clock, Axl comes out of the elevator at the Sheraton Hotel, but instead of going to the car that’s waiting for him, he goes and plays roulette for 1.5 hours. After that he goes back up to his room. Five minutes later he comes back down and goes to the car. On the way to the venue, he tells the driver to stop. There was a festival in Stockholm called Vattenfestivalen and Axl wanted to see the fireworks.
The show starts after eleven o’clock.
During “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, Axl says “Now on this one maybe you people that have been falling asleep the whole fuckin’ show, on your feet up here could sing along too…. If you’re bored, you should’ve saved your money and gone and seen the fireworks tonight.”.
At the fourth show [of the European leg of the Use Your Illusion tour], in Stockholm, Sweden, [Axl] went to a street festival and watched fireworks before turning up to the gig three hours late [Duff’s autobiography, “It’s So Easy”, 2011, p. 190]
