Here is another sample of the Stockholm screen and stageshot mix i’m working on. Please note that this isn’t a final version, it needs more syncing, color correction/grading etc.
Saturday August 17
Second show in Stockholm. During their stay in Sweden, when Guns were at the club Daily News, a photographer from Expressen (Sweden’s) at that time biggest newspaper (referred by Axl as “your version of the Enquirer”) takes pictures of them without permission. Guns bodyguards tried to stop him but they failed and the picture came on Expressen?s first page the next day.
At around nine o’clock, Axl comes out of the elevator at the Sheraton Hotel, but instead of going to the car that’s waiting for him, he goes and plays roulette for 1.5 hours. After that he goes back up to his room. Five minutes later he comes back down and goes to the car. On the way to the venue, he tells the driver to stop. There was a festival in Stockholm called Vattenfestivalen and Axl wanted to see the fireworks.
The show starts after eleven o’clock.
During “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door”, Axl says “Now on this one maybe you people that have been falling asleep the whole fuckin’ show, on your feet up here could sing along too…. If you’re bored, you should’ve saved your money and gone and seen the fireworks tonight.”.
At the fourth show [of the European leg of the Use Your Illusion tour], in Stockholm, Sweden, [Axl] went to a street festival and watched fireworks before turning up to the gig three hours late [Duff’s autobiography, “It’s So Easy”, 2011, p. 190]
